Effective date: August 13, 2026
Vellum is a scheduling app where your calendar is a written document. This policy explains what we collect and why. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to sign you in and sync your schedule, we don't sell anything, and you can delete everything at any time.
Phone number. Used solely to sign you in via a one-time SMS code. Verification codes are handled by our SMS provider and are never stored by us.
First name. Optional, provided at sign-up, used only to personalize the app.
Your schedule document. The text you write in Vellum is stored on your device and synced to our servers so it survives device changes and reinstalls.
Account identifier. On first sign-in we create a random account ID. Your data is keyed to this ID, not your phone number.
We don't sell your data, show ads, track you across other apps, or collect your location, contacts, or anything else on your device. No advertising or analytics profiles are built from the contents of your schedule.
Data is stored with our infrastructure providers (cloud hosting and database services) in the United States, encrypted in transit over HTTPS. Access to the database is restricted to Vellum's backend; your device never connects to it directly.
In the app, Account → Delete account permanently removes your schedule, your account record, and your phone number from our servers, and clears local data on your device. This is immediate and irreversible.
Vellum is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
